\"FABLES<\/a>There is a lot of\u00c2\u00a0talks these days about\u00c2\u00a0digital transformation<\/a>, unfortunately I feel no real sense of emergency\u00c2\u00a0inside\u00c2\u00a0companies. But this sense of urgency is required to create momentum and provide the impetus.<\/p>\n

Do not confuse long time and take its\u00c2\u00a0time<\/strong><\/p>\n

As I often write, digital transformation is a marathon and not a hundred meters\u00c2\u00a0race, although the difference is that one is in a continuous process. It takes time, of course, but that does not mean take its\u00c2\u00a0time either, it’s not synonymous. In the fable of the hare and the tortoise<\/em><\/a>, the hare may well run very fast it does not catch the tortoise that finished up winning the race. \nThe slowness was even claimed by many. The subject of digital transformation is complex, it is true. Therefore, companies think they have to\u00c2\u00a0plan, manage, prepare … and it takes time before launching. Now we are in a world where it is increasingly impossible to control everything and plan. The change is faster\u00c2\u00a0and permanent. Otherwise while\u00c2\u00a0they adapt, others will already win, and I don’t speak only\u00c2\u00a0of external competitors, but getting the\u00c2\u00a0internal leadership inside companies as well for\u00c2\u00a0this type of project. Which can be planned has\u00c2\u00a0often a\u00c2\u00a0less strategic value, HR\u00c2\u00a0should focus more on issues with high added value where its expertise is paramount.<\/p>\n

Apply the \u00ab\u00a0think big, start small, move fast\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes it’s a complex\u00c2\u00a0topic, and it does not mean\u00c2\u00a0doing nonsense, but we will have to force them to leave\u00c2\u00a0the \u00ab\u00a0command and control\u00a0\u00bb approach, to let go in a process of \u00ab\u00a0test and learn\u00a0\u00bb through continuous improvement. And in its\u00c2\u00a0logic, a room for error inherent of the\u00c2\u00a0digital culture. Sometimes\u00c2\u00a0it goes beyond the \u00ab\u00a0test and learn\u00a0\u00bb to\u00c2\u00a0\u00ab\u00a0fail and learn.\u00a0\u00bb Companies must understand that time is against them. Get it wrong is not a problem, if you react quickly. The worst thing is not to take\u00c2\u00a0decision and stagnate. Companies must think big (it’s not always the case, or only in speech) and start small (which is often the case). But above all, they must move quickly and here, we are way off the mark. The new fable of the hare and the tortoise is still current.
