This idea of being inspired by the marketing, I expressed it during a workshop about social learning and employee engagement in social business process, with an HR audience, during the last Enterprise 2.0 summit. Few years ago, I wouldn’t have said that, but I think it is true, even if the sentence is a little bit provocative. Customers are not identical, as the marketing finally understood, employees either. Social Business be inspired by the monitoring

 A lot of social business experts note that some enterprises, far from all, have a real social media strategy based on a real web monitoring and community management. For example, as you can read on the last Altimeter group’s white paper on social business, there is different stage of maturity (planning, presence, engagement, formalized, strategic, converged) and the majority is far from the strategic or converged level where the internal collaboration is part of the strategy.

However in an enterprise 2.0 logic, the integration of the  the external flow with the internal flow in a collaborative perspective is most of the time to set up. This in and out process remind the monitoring one. How to be inspired by it, let’s see that.

Informal learning : the Bene Gesserit way

Towards social business : dos and don’ts

do_dont2There is a long time (about three years) I haven’t published this type of article on this blog about dos and don’ts and social business. But when Gartner released a prediction that through 2015, a whopping 80% of social business efforts will fail to achieve their intended benefits, hampered by « inadequate leadership and an overemphasis on technology », back to basics is may be not a bad idea.
